High Ate Us

A good day to you loyal listeners and now readers. Patrick and I have deliberated and we’ve come to the conclusion that: We don’t know what the fuck we’re doing. We sort of jumped into this podcast thing when my brain was a-cravin’ for something more than my LiveJournal and came up with the idea of recording the nonsense that we talked about every few days.

But I have zero experience in listening to podcasts, so knowing what anyone would want to hear about and what kind of format to put that in once I figured it out was so out of my league that I wasn’t willing to try. Now I, we, know better. Over the summer we’re going to listen to podcasts until our ears bleed, figure out which ones we like, which ones the fans like, why, and sort things out from there.

We so appreciate the few of you who took this first step with us and kept us on our toes, giving us reason to make a recording each week, even on days when we really couldn’t care less about doing it. We hope that you’ll be with us whenever we come back (and we’ll be sure to let you know when that happens).

There are a few ideas that we have in store for what I guess I’ll call the 2nd Season of Discussions of an Uncertain Nature, but I won’t divulge here what they are. You’ll just have to tune in next time. ^_^

This Week in Text

Hey listeners,
Meg and I are still trying to figure out how to do this stuff what with the distance betwixt us and all, so for this week we’re doing a blog and a complimentary link dump.
So, blogging.
I have no clue what to blog about. I really want to talk about politics and the pure stupidity of the tea-baggers, or all those people who complain about Obama and his nation repairing policies. But I won’t. I might offend some idiots. The last thing I want is some right-wing religious conservative who doesn’t know one thing about the ideals this nation was founded on bitching and moaning through their one or two remaining teeth.
I will talk about Texas though. Once again, they are trying to re-write history. They want textbooks to say that McCarthyism, you know, the practice of finding the “reds” in Hollywood in a quite literally facist inquisition, was a good thing and that Thomas Jefferson, one of the two most important founding fathers, was a godless heathen who was unAmerican. Stupidity hurts my head. Basically a bunch of stupid Texans who should not have any effect on education re-wrote text books. Fantastic. More retarded red-necks fuck up this country.
I’m getting sick of stupidity in this country. I don’t understand how people can be so blatantly ignorant and then celebrate their ignorance. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/13/education/13texas.html
On a happier note, My job this summer is awesome. I get to work outside all day taking care of flowers and lifting bags of dirt. I get dirty, sweaty, tanned, and I feel like manly man. Also I’m going to start playing D&D with my friends which is sad and pathetic. But it will be fun.
Otherwise not much new to report. Link dump time!
http://www.struckthefilm.com/ A fun little short with one of the guys from My Name is Earl.
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/534416 Awesome flash game! Play Mario as other characters!
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Main_Page Most useful site ever. A question about Pokemon? You’ll find the answer here!
______________________________________________________________________________________

Okay, now it’s my turn.

I have nothing to say in response to Patrick’s half of the blog. It’s 95% politics and moaning about the people in this country moaning about the government. I try my hardest not to get into those kinds of discussions but for some reason, almost every time we try to do an episode of Discussions of an Uncertain Nature, Patrick pulls one out of his head, gets himself all upset and then I’m either bored or feel unintelligent or both. Dude…why?! Stop it or you’re fired.

In other news, my fiance and I split a Nintendo DS Lite today. ^_^ It was one of the bigger spontaneous purchases I’ve ever been involved in (aside from the house that my family is currently living in :-S). We were in GameStop and he saw a pre-owned one for $99.00. We deliberated…I hemmed and hawed and went from one foot to the next and he watched me. We came to a decision and bought it and Scribblenauts for about the same amount as a new DS Lite. Patrick, I know you offered me your old DS at one point, but I kind of forgot about it. Keep it, save for something useful, like mayhaps a car one day when you decide to have one?

I’m enjoying the DS and the game more than my adult self would have permitted me to had I let it be in control. Lucky for the kid in me, I like her better. I think the simple idea of touching the screen is enough to bring my enjoyment to its max.

That’s all we have for this week. Come back around for next week. We’ll figure something out.

Taking A Break

Hey boys and girls. Due to some unforseen circumstances in our lives at the moment, Patrick and I have decided to take a little break from podcasting, at least for this week. We’re not sure how long this hiatus will last, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Once again, thanks for listening so far, and we hope to be entertaining you sometime in the near future. ^_^

~Meg

I’m hoping to return next week with more zeal and vigor than a level 100 Paladin facing Baal on hell mode. That’s a Diablo II reference for all those who didn’t get it.

Thanks for listening and you will all hopefully hear us next week 🐱

Thank you for listening, and I hope you enjoy this, our fourth episode!
